967 Iron Lions

Who Are We?

We are team 967 Iron Lions, established in 2001.  Our Rookie year was 2002.  We are the only FRC team at Linn-Mar.  Resources for programming, CAD, and more can be found in the Resources page.


What Are We About?

  • Spreading STEAM to the next generation.
  • Recruiting new members and expanding our team.
  • Encouraging teamwork and innovation.
  • Creating a welcoming environment where creativity and community thrive.

Sub Teams

 

CAD/Design

  • Use CAD software to design mechanisms for the robot.
  •  Create parts using 3D printers.

Assembly/Hardware

  • Use tools and work in the shop to fabricate metal parts for the robot.
  • Responsible for both mechanical and electrical components of the robot.

Software/Programming

  • Write code in Java to control the functions of the robot.
  • Integrate sensor data to give robot awareness of its surroundings during Autonomous and Tele-Op operations.
  • Keep the website updated, debugged, and running

Outreach/Awards

  • Responsible for organizing events and expanding the team’s presence in the community.
  • Creates award submissions for competitions.

Strategy

  • Develop competition strategies during the build and competition season.
  • Understand game rules and analyze strategies employed by other FRC teams.
